














NEEDLE METIS STYLE BEADING - Instructor Melanie Gamache, Borealis Beading
Friday, September 5th, 9am - Noon (3 hrs) $132
One beading technique used by the Metis people, 2-needle beading requires one needle and thread to string the beads and a second needle and thread to 'couch' or tack down the bead-thread. In this beginner class, students will use the 2-needle beading technique to bead a 5 petal flower motif on a small fabric bag. Students will choose from 3 different design motifs.
No prior skill required, but a good attitude toward learning something new is always appreciated!
Ages 16+
Students Bring to Class: Reading glasses if you need assistance seeing up close.
Price Breakdown: $60 Materials fee includes beads, beading needles, thread and ready to bead project with pattern attached, $72 registration fee

Melanie Gamache is a Francophone Red River Metis beadwork artisan. She started beading in 2014 and is known for offering Metis Cultural Learning experiences, sharing stories of connections between Metis culture and history with food, beadwork and nature. She prides herself on continued learning about her culture and ancestors and making the connections between these stories and the art of beadwork.
