Merezhka, which means “little net” is an embroidery technique that refers to hemstitching, or drawn thread embroidery. Participants will leave with a small sampler with two or three of these specialty techniques, knowledge of the basic structure of a shirt, and a list of reference materials for independent continued learning.

Oksana graduated from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Institute of Arts, Ukraine, and received a master's degree in "Visual Arts, Decorative and Applied Arts", qualified as a Visual Arts, Decorative and Applied Arts artist. She is an active participant in Kolo | Ukrainian Makers Circle (a group of Ukrainian makers — crafters and artists). Oksana has continued her ongoing study of authentic techniques of Ukrainian embroidery and construction of sorochky, women’s, and men’s shirts. She prefers to work with natural materials, linen, hemp fabric, and a variety of threads.
