MENDING 101 - Instructor Anna-Marie Janzen, Reclaim Mending
Friday, September 5th, 6 - 8pm (2 hrs), $58
In this workshop, you will learn basic hand sewing stitches and how to apply them to your own clothes’ mending needs. We will cover repairs for both woven fabrics and knit fabrics, and also provide the skills for your own visible mending! No experience or sewing machine required.
Ages14+
Students bring to class: Any clothing items that need repairs to work on (optional)
Price Breakdown: $10 materials fee includes needles, thread, patching fabric, practice fabric and buttons/snaps, $48 workshop fee

Anna-Marie Janzen (she/her) is the owner and operator of Reclaim Mending, a local sewing service that focuses on textile repairs. She has been sewing since she was a wee tot and grew up understanding the importance of making things last, and the love and care that can go into our clothes.
Mending people’s clothes, and teaching them how to do it themselves, are ways that she can help others divest from the fast fashion industry, keep textiles out of landfills, and spark conversations on how we can contribute to a global shift.
