Ages 16+, must be able to spin a consistent singles yarn

Students Bring to Class: A spinning wheel, 2-3 bobbins, niddy noddy, wheel maintenance items, lazy kate, drop spindle

Price Breakdown: $20 materials fee includes wool and core yarns, $72 workshop fee

Meet the Instructor: Kara Perpelitz, SpinHeartSpin Handspun Yarns and Fibre Arts

Kara Perpelitz is a Master Spinner (2017) and Fibre Artist who has lived in some part of Saskatchewan her entire life. When she first discovered hand spun yarns over 15 years ago, she certainly didn’t see it becoming a passion. This passion has led to writing, teaching, and creating art out of yarn. This passion for yarn lead to passion for fibre work in general. She explores the concept of place and connection through fibre arts, using manipulations such as spinning yarn, felting, dyeing, printing, sewing and more.
