Create your own beautiful pine needle basket! This introductory workshop will guide students through the process of basket making with pine needles to create a small (approx 3in) basket with lid and optional embellishments. As pine needle basketry is time-intensive, this project will likely need to be finished at home. Students will leave the class with all guidance and materials needed to complete their basket at home.
Price Breakdown: $5 materials fee includes hand-foraged pine needles, wax threads, large sewing needles, objects for handles (pinecones, beads), $48 registration fee

Meet the Instructor: Sara Loeppy
Sara Loeppky is a multi-media artist currently studying at the University of Manitoba. She practices drawing, painting, and interdisciplinary sculpture to create works closely tied to nature. Recently, she has expanded this passion into creating directly from natural materials.
